The top prioritized strategy for BABA-W (09988.HK)(BABA.US)’s e-commerce business group for 2025 is “growth”, and subsequent organizational and strategic adjustments will revolve around this, Chinese media outlet Latepost reported.

The biggest highlight in this growth strategy is that Alibaba is internally of the view that the group should be more open with a global awareness, helping brands, especially small and medium-sized brands, to grow across the entire network, thereby elevating Alibaba's revenue.

After the Chinese New Year, Alibaba has reportedly taken the lead in launching the “growth” strategy in the three core industries, namely apparel, beauty, and sports and outdoor.

The group has also launched six measures for brand merchants, including new product incentives, off-site traffic expansion, member private domains, commission incentives, new merchant support and business environment optimization.

However, the amount of subsidies budgeted for Taobao and Tmall has not yet been determined. Some employees opined that this in a certain extent means that there is “no upper limit” on the amount of investment.
