Sinopec announced that the Hongxing Shale Gas Field, located at the border of Hubei and Chongqing, has proven shale gas reserves of 165.025 billion cubic meters.

This has successfully passed the verification by the Ministry of Natural Resources, marking the official emergence of another large shale gas field in mainland China.
