Nvidia (NVDA.US) is reported to have instructed component suppliers like Samsung to stop production related to the H20 AI chips, as China has urged domestic companies to avoid using these chips. In response, a spokesperson for Nvidia said that the company constantly manages the supply chain to address market conditions. As stated by both the US and Chinese governments, the H20 chips are not a military product, and they are not applicable to government infrastructure, either. Therefore, China will not rely on US chips for government operations, just as the US government will not rely on Chinese chips. Chip stocks rallied on the news today (22nd), with HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) reaching a peak of HKD53.6 this morning. It last traded at HKD52.05, up 9.53%, with a turnover of HKD3.441 billion. SMIC (00981.HK) last printed at HKD54.75, up 5.9%, with a turnover of HKD7.302 billion. AAStocks Financial News |
