The average second-hand price of POP MART (09992.HK)’s latest 14 regular mini Labubu figurine blind boxes over the past three days was RMB1,594, a 24% drop from the peak during the pre-sale two weeks ago, Bloomberg, citing data from the mainland toy trading platform, reported. The original retail price of these blind boxes was RMB1,106. The premium for Labubu collectibles in China's second-hand market is shrinking, indicating a fading speculative demand and an increased cautious attitude among collectors towards the value of Asia's hottest designer toys, report told. Pop Mart responded that the drop in second-hand prices is partly due to heightened product supply, allowing consumers to purchase through primary channels, while viewing that there are more favorable factors for the company's long-term development. Regarding Pop Mart's stock price slipping about 19% from its recent high, several brokers issued reports. UBS believed that the current stock price adjustment of Pop Mart entails a buying opportunity for the anticipated short-term catalysts. JPMorgan emphasized that the decline in search interest does not equate to the end of the product life cycle. AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com |
