CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) announced an evolvement of its membership program, including smoother status progression, standardized membership cycle, Diamond Executive - a new elite status. These changes will take effect on 1 January 2027, with a transition period commencing on 1 January 2026. Cathay Pacific stated that the membership program update includes five aspects, such as smoother status progression, where Status Points will no longer reset to zero after achieving an upgrade, which enables members to potentially attain multiple status upgrades within a single year. For standardised membership cycle, transitioning from the individual rolling system, the membership cycle will now be standardised to run from 1 January to 31 December each calendar year for all members. For Status Points rollover, Gold members or above can now carry over the excess Status Points to the next year, up to 50% of the number of Status Points required to earn the attained status. For Diamond Executive, a new elite status, Cathay is introducing Diamond Exec for members who earn at least 2,400 Status Points within a single year, providing valued members with a personalised and elevated travel experience. For Complimentary Diamond membership year, members who have maintained any Diamond status for a minimum of five cumulative years throughout their membership tenure are now eligible to earn a complimentary Diamond membership year for every 6,000 Status Points accumulated within their membership lifetime, with no expiry date nor limit to the number that a member can earn.
