The HSI ended the day up 192 points or nearly 0.8% at 25,690. The HSCEI rose 59 points or 0.7% to close at 8,901. The HSTECH climbed 60 points or 1.1%, closing at 5,479. The market's total turnover for the day amounted to HKD221.186 billion. Automobile and related equipment stocks were sought after. XPENG-W (09868.HK) closed 7.7% higher at HKD76.65, with a turnover of HKD2.473 billion. HORIZONROBOT-W (09660.HK) also soared 7%, with a turnover of HKD2.908 billion. LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK), LI AUTO-W (02015.HK), and NIO-SW (09866.HK) leaped 5.7%, 3.8%, and 2.3%. HESAI-W (02525.HK) and ROBOSENSE (02498.HK) advanced 4.6% and 3.3%. TikTok and Oracle (ORCL.US) formed a US joint venture, with ByteDance retaining US e-commerce and advertising operations. Tech stocks made a moderate leap. BABA-W (09988.HK) inched up 0.8%. JD-SW (09618.HK) dipped 0.8%. TENCENT (00700.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), and NTES-S (09999.HK) grew 1.3-1.5%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) ticked up 1-1.5%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) gained 0.5%. Chip makers SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) inclined 0.5% and 0.7%. With the Christmas holiday approaching, Macau media quoted Cheung Kin Chung, President of the Association of Macao Tourist Agents, as forecasting that the average hotel occupancy rate will reach over 85% during this Christmas period, basically flat to slightly up compared to the same period last year. Casino stocks were hyped up, with major blue chips GALAXY ENT (00027.HK) and SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK) shooting up 2.7-2.9%. MGM CHINA (02282.HK) surged near the market close.
